Let's start at the beginning

I grew up the youngest in a very creative family. My oldest sister sewed most of my clothes through out my growing up. I also took home ec classes through school. I was comfortable with a sewing machine,  but usually relied on my sisters to do any major sewing for me.

When I married and had kids that changed. I needed to start doing for myself.  The first good sewing machine that I purchased was the Bernina activa 220. I still have her, she is a fantastic and durable machine.  I have had her for about 20 years.

About three years ago my husband took a job that has a living in two different states. (Utah and Michigan) So I took my Activa to Michigan, and I was luck enough to be able to purchase a new machine for Utah. Welcome Bernina 790 plus limited edition. She is beautiful. So with the addition of this new machine I believe they needed names. From now on the Activa is Wilma, and the 790 plus is Elizabeth.

With the addition to Elizabeth, I have really able to expanded what I love to do. Besides piecing my quilt tops, I can quilt them in the hoop. I have also done embroidery and some other heavier duty type of applications. It has been so much fun to learn all the lovely feature of this new machine.   While quilting one of my larger quilts in the hoop, I was running into issues. I was really pushing the limits of that technology. Quilting is the hoop is wonderful. But when it come to something say the size of a large lap quilt it gets tricky to be able to get good results. Plus I really love the look of a very geometric quilting pattern and that was something that when you have a large project it is going to be difficult to do.
So welcome to the line up Zina (because she is the warrior princess) with the addition to Zina, I can now quilt any size quilt with precision and ease. I am super excited to start my journey into longarm quilting and hope to help other quilters finish their quilt tops.
